Welcome to my blog! There’s really nothing to spectacular about it – mostly my random thoughts on pretty much anything, most often about the day to day goings on of our life.
I’m married to a fantastic man named Ben. He’s tall and dutch and very handsome. I most often choose to call him Benjy, solely based on the fact that there was a pretty awesome tv show about a dog named Benji that was on back in the 80’s when I was about 4.
We live in a basement apartment in Oakville ON.
We went to this school, where we met.
I work as a youth director at this church. That means I get to hang out with students all the time, doing crazy things, hanging out and helping them realize who God has made them to be. I still can’t believe that I get paid to do this, but whatever – as long as they let me keep doing it, I probably will.
I do my best to live the way Jesus did.
I think games are great. I’ve probably played more hours of euchre than one person should.
I have an affinity for people who can quote or at least appreciate any of the following:
- Dumb and Dumber
- The Princess Bride
- The Office
- Tommy Boy
- Classic SNL (keep in mind, I’m only 26, so classic SNL means anything Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon…)
If there’s a bowl of smartfood around, there’s a good chance I won’t stop eating until it’s finished.
I usually have a song on the go in my head, and more often than not, it won’t just stay in my head and the people around me are subjected to humming, whistling, or me singing the same line over and over under my breath.
I’m originally from Saskatchewan. Ben is from Nova Scotia. I like this. Last summer in the span of 2 weeks we visited both places and it was great. Although we have a travel bug and want to see so much of this world, I love that we will also have so many trips right here in Canada to places that hold so much beauty, and meaning for us.
This blog’s been around about a year, and although many of my posts I’m sure have been duds, here’s a few of the ones I like most: here, here, here, here and here.
